There are coffees that, after the very first tasting, we know we want to spend more time with. This Ethiopian lot is one of them.
Southwest Ethiopia, Gesha. The origin itself is already fascinating, but what really caught our attention with this coffee is how clean and composed it is in the cup, while still carrying the fruit-driven character of its anaerobic processing.
This lot comes from Gesha Farm, established in 2019. The estate covers 1,000 hectares, with 350 hectares planted with coffee. The farm is located just five kilometres from Gesha village in Southwest Ethiopia, at an elevation of 1,830–2,000 metres above sea level. The coffee grows under the shade of natural forest, in deep, fertile brown soil.
The variety is 74110, processed as unwashed anaerobic. After careful sorting, only ripe cherries continue to fermentation, where they spend four days in an oxygen-free environment. The coffee is then dried on raised African beds.
On paper, all of this suggests an intense, fruit-forward coffee. But in our roast and in the cup, we also found a beautiful sense of calm and balance.

The first thing that stood out to us was cocoa. Clean, delicate and without bitterness. It is neither dark chocolate nor the creamy sweetness of milk chocolate – it reminds us more of the pure cocoa character of a high-quality 65–70% chocolate. This is followed by the rounded fruitiness of blueberry, while gooseberry brings a fresher, brighter dimension to the cup.
As the filter coffee cools, these layers become increasingly distinct. The cocoa remains as a foundation throughout, while the berries bring more and more freshness into the cup.

A clean, cocoa-driven and fruity Ethiopian filter where the anaerobic processing doesn’t try to take over the cup. Instead, it adds to it – bringing fruit, freshness and layers.
That is exactly why we chose it. Now it’s your turn to discover it.
